Position Overview: 

Texas Hold Ém Poker, a leadership training program of the Global Give Back Circle, seeks a dynamic individual for the role of Leadership Training Assistant. This unique program utilizes the game of poker to teach participants crucial skills such as risk-taking, confidence building, negotiation, and strategic thinking. As the Assistant, you will bridge communication between the Poker Power team and participants in Kenya, facilitating sessions, providing language support, and ensuring participant comprehension.

This role entails physical presence for 3 sessions per week in Nairobi and 1 virtual session, with additional responsibilities in session reporting and progress tracking.

Key Responsibilities:

1.    Session Facilitation and Language Support:

-       Provide language assistance during Poker Power sessions to enhance participant understanding.

-       Paraphrase complex concepts to address language barriers, fostering comprehension.

-       Attend three in-person training sessions per week in Nairobi, coordinating logistics and maintaining engagement.

-       Organize and facilitate one virtual training session weekly via Zoom for (college) participants.

 

2.    Progress Tracking:

-       Collaborate with the Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL) team to monitor participant comprehension.

-       Assess understanding, address questions, and adapt communication strategies as needed.

-       Conduct follow-up activities with participants to assess learning outcomes and provide additional support.

 

3.    Reporting:

-       Prepare comprehensive reports after each session, highlighting key insights, participant engagement, and areas for improvement.

-       Document feedback and recommendations for enhancing future sessions and overall program impact.

 

Requirements

-       Bachelor's degree in any field.

-       Proficiency in English with clear and articulate speaking.

-       Strong interpersonal skills, cultural sensitivity, and the ability to connect with diverse audiences.

-       Previous experience in language support, training facilitation, or related roles (preferred)

-       Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail in reporting and progress tracking.

-       Flexibility to attend physical sessions in Nairobi and participate in virtual sessions as required.

-       Proficiency in virtual communication tools and the ability to adapt to the online learning environment.

-       Knowledge of Texas Hold 'Em Poker is an added advantage.
