The role will be at an Associate level. The role sits within the Investment Banking Team and will support the project leads in providing financial advisory support in origination, structuring and execution of capital raising transactions with a focus on equity capital raises across various sectors.  

The ideal candidate will have a solid background in Equity Capital Markets (ECM), investment banking, or related advisory roles. Exposure to debt instruments and structuring is considered advantageous, but not compulsory. 

The candidate will work closely with Vice Presidents, Managing Directors, a project manager and analysts, and will be expected to demonstrate a high level of initiative and autonomy. Strong willingness to learn and develop in a growing company focused on climate financiers crucial.   

Responsibilities 

Origination & Deal Execution:

  • Support the end-to-end origination and execution of equity capital raising mandates, including private placements, IPOs, and other equity-linked instruments (convertibles, hybrids, or structured equity solutions).
  • Assist in identifying and developing opportunities across infrastructure, energy, agriculture, education, healthcare, and sustainability-driven sectors, with a focus on African markets.
  • Engage in market soundings and investor outreach, coordinating roadshows and investor engagement materials.

Structuring & Financial Advisory:

  • Support project leads in the wider BwB teams in the design of capital structures that blend private equity, concessional finance, and public funding, ensuring financial viability and alignment with project objectives.
  • Assist in structuring transactions aligned with both commercial objectives and impact outcomes, including transactions underpinned by SDG or ESG frameworks.
  • Provide insights on local and international capital market trends to inform structuring decisions.

Financial Modelling & Valuation:

  • Develop and maintain robust financial models to support equity valuations, sensitivity analyses, and scenario planning across projects.
  • Perform company valuations using DCF, comparable companies, precedent transactions, and other relevant methodologies.

Due Diligence & Risk Analysis:

  • Lead key workstreams in financial and commercial due diligence processes, coordinating inputs from legal, technical, and environmental advisors.
  • Conduct comprehensive risk assessments and propose appropriate financial or contractual risk mitigants to support bankability.

Stakeholder & Investor Engagement:

  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders including DFIs, institutional investors, and private equity investors, among others.
  • Support negotiations with investors, sponsors, and co-advisors to advance transaction execution.
  • Help prepare transaction marketing materials such as investor teasers, pitch decks, information memoranda, and term sheets.

Project Management & Delivery:

  • Manage transaction timelines, project deliverables, and internal approval processes, ensuring high-quality output, and tracking and reporting on deal pipeline progress.
  • Work closely with Managing Directors, Vice Presidents, and project managers to ensure coordinated and efficient deal execution across multiple jurisdictions.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of relevant experience in Equity Capital Markets, corporate finance, or investment banking. Financial advisory experience will be an advantage  
  • Strong transaction experience in equity fundraising, public or private equity placements, or M&A advisory.
  • Demonstrated exposure to developing markets, preferably Africa, will be highly regarded.
  • Proven project management and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Fluency in English (C1 level minimum); proficiency in an additional language is desirable.

  • Highly self-motivated and able to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work in dynamic and cross-functional teams.
