The Water Reduction Specialist will drive water conservation projects across all Diageo sites in Africa. This will include, offering technical advice in
terms of water management, auditing plant water systems and water usage using Diversey’s Aqua check program, training Diversey and Diageo staff, generating technical reports and troubleshooting in areas where water usage is
beyond norm. Benchmarking water usage against best-in-class usage and practices and implementing corrective
actions.
Key Responsibilities:
Qualifications and Experience
• Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Water Engineering, Industrial Chemistry, Environmental Science, or any other related discipline.
• A good understanding of water conservation in manufacturing environment and knowledge of brewery operations (brewing, packaging, and utilities).
• Excellent technical understanding of brewery operations:
o Brewing process
o Brewery cleaning process
o Packaging Hall operations- lubrication, bottle washer and pasteurizer operations
o Utility operations- boiler functions and treatment/ Cooling systems function and treatment
o Pre- water treatment- ROs, UF systems, Water softeners, deionizers and ACFs
o Auditing manufacturing process.
o Championing sustainability projects in manufacturing setting.
• Demonstrate excellent communication and presentation skills to customers and senior management.
• Team player with the ability to work across different cultures and functions.
