Duties & Responsibilities
Job Description:
- Design renewable energy systems, ensuring compliance with regulations and standards.
- Conduct site inspections, prepare budgets, and create detailed drawings.
- Perform calculations for utility approval and generate as-built drawings.
- Simulate system performance and assist with commissioning and maintenance.
- Lead and review a design team, ensuring all designs meet regulatory standards.
- Professional sign-off plants for compliance to regulations and standards
- Form part of the commissioning team on-site during project commissioning
- Self-starter and Results-oriented: Proven experience in working to deadlines with limited guidance.
- Excellent computer literacy and knowledge of design and visualization software
- The ability to work with multiple disciplines of projects
- Minimum 5+ years of experience related to solar PV, CHP, battery energy storage, wind, and green hydrogen.
- Knowledge of applicable codes, policies, standards and best practices. I.e. IEC, KEBS or SANS
- Experience living and working in Africa (ideally 1-2 years minimum).
- B.Eng, BSc. Eng, B.Tech Eng in Electrical engineering
- Holds a valid T3 Solar Photovoltaic Technician License (Other certifications will be considered)
- Registered with the Engineers Board of Kenya as a Professional Engineer
