Local Governance Expert (LGE) (Key Personnel)

ICF is seeking a local candidate to serve as Local Governance Expert (LGE), one of the three required long-term key personnel positions for the multi-year program USAID is planning in Jordan, the Amman Urban Resilience Activity (AURA), estimated to be $25-50 million in value. According to USAID’s statement of work for AURA, the program goal will be to improve urban resilience to climate change and decarbonization in the municipality of Amman, Jordan. Activities are envisioned to focus on efforts to (1) improve data-driven policymaking and planning, and promote behavior change for urban resilience and decarbonization, (2) improve finance mobilization for urban resilience and decarbonization projects, and (3) increase implementation of priority urban resilience and decarbonization projects. This is a bid opportunity, and fulfillment of recruitment for this position will depend on contract award and USAID approval. The proposed project office would be in Amman, and possession of or ability to obtain local a work permit will be required.
What you will be doing:
The LGE will be AURA’s expert on participatory processes and will assume the lead role in articulating and advocating the strategic importance of fostering the inclusive participation of a broad diversity of citizens, including women, youth, and marginalized groups, CSOs, and local private sector entities in local governance processes within Amman to advance urban resilience and decarbonization.
