- Actively promote the availability of MSF services.
- Carry out, individually or in group, basic counseling and/or educational
sessions, to patients, their families, hospital staff and/or the community
(students, teachers, parents, community leaders, etc.).
- Carry out workshops for the analysis of community problems and conflict
resolutions.
- Refer patients when necessary to other specialists or external actors in
order to provide the best available support.
- Collect and report specific information related to the target group.
- Keep files and statistics updated about the counseling and/or educational
activities.
- Attending supervision sessions and educational sessions with members of
the team.
- Proactively engages with recipients of service and the community at large,
individual and/or groups, to raise awareness on mental well-being and on the MSF
available mental health services at different locations (Outreach, health
talks, safe spaces, community based organizations, moonlight outreach
activity).
- With the help of the team, identifies and addresses stigma, discrimination
within the team and others as well.
- With the mental health team, assist to identify and highlight the mental
health needs of each group/community
that the project serves and proposes solutions.
- Ensures the confidentiality and the privacy of case(s) managed according
to MSF standards and national laws.
- Carry out basic mental health services (psycho-education on different
topics, PFA, identification of symptoms of mental health distress) through
individual and/or group sessions.
- Documents and reports all conducted work, group and individual,
educational, and counseling, following the MSF data collection and data
privacy SOP.
- Detects and refers cases based on the identified needs and the referral
pathways following the MSF communication lines.
- Generates weekly reports to share with the MH department, about the
activities done, challenges in the activities and plans.
- Collaborate with the different team members (MH, HP, clinicians, research,
social workers) to advance the services to recipients of need. Communicating challenges and achievements with
the MHAM/PMR regularly.
- Collaborates in the implementation of social communication activities
(workshops and radio programs, video, internet and social networks).
- Facilitation of spaces for leisure, sport and culture (artistic
expression workshops, football tournaments and matches, volleyball, collective
spaces for board games), when required.
- Identify the existing networks of relationships in the community and
register them using tools as social maps.
- Participate in the transmission of knowledge to the peers with whom
he/she/they work, strengthening their training in PFA, communication skills
and identification of symptoms of mental health distress.
- Participate in the discussion of clinical cases and review of team
topics, applying critical and reflective thinking.

Education : Desirable, formal degree in social work
