Our team

A core contributing factor to the influence Instiglio has had thus far includes our collaborative, highly skilled and diverse team. We are a team of 100+ people, representing 15+ nationalities, with offices in Colombia, Kenya, Morocco, Mauritius and the USA. Our team of practitioners has extensive development and government experience, including previous roles in international development banks, management consulting, national governments, multilateral agencies, INGOs and academia.  

Eligibility and job allocation

We are recruiting for multiple positions, with successful candidates assigned to one of our teams: Global, Nairobi (Anglophone Africa), or Rabat (Francophone Africa). Candidates must have the required permits to work in Kenya or Morocco, while international applicants are welcome to apply for positions in Mauritius.

How you will make an impact 

At Instiglio, you'll gain unique experience working at the intersection of the private, public, and social sectors to improve the effectiveness of development spending. As an Associate or Analyst at Instiglio, you will gain expertise in a range of innovative approaches that support public institutions, funders and other development partners to improve their social and environmental impact across a range of sectors. In terms of sector expertise, Associates and Analysts are generalist positions that provide an opportunity to work across sectors, exploring different topics including but not limited to education, health, climate, migration, workforce development, livelihoods, and water and sanitation.  

Associates and Analysts at Instiglio support project teams in guiding internal and external stakeholders through difficult, yet important, changes to their operations by translating complex concepts into understandable insights. You will be focused on Instiglio's global project portfolio, working within teams to support senior leadership and external partners around the world on projects focused on donor transformation, thought leadership, innovation, and Results-Based Financing (RBF) designs. You will play a crucial role in the execution of projects working in teams composed of a Project Lead, Project Manager(s), Senior Associates, and fellow Associates and Analysts. You will also get to develop and hone your people management skills by guiding Analysts and Interns working under you to deliver high-quality services. 

Tasks may include:

  • Participating in the preparation of proposals and client deliverables, such as PowerPoint presentations, publications and Excel analyses.
  • Conducting literature reviews and preparing case studies to guide decision-making.
  • Developing and articulating technical components of RBF and performance management instruments in an accurate and easy-to-understand manner.  
  • Describing and interpreting graphs, analyzing data and applying statistical concepts (e.g. mean, SD, regressions) to draw actionable insights/hypotheses.
  • Proposing and structuring data analyses and testing hypotheses.
  • Contributing to the execution of change management plans for stakeholders across sectors, and in the creation of proposals for clients, using clear communication.
  • Supporting internal business development efforts by mapping donors and preparing pitch decks. 

Who you are

Our ideal candidate will need to meet the following requirements: 

  • Experience:
    • At least 1-3 years' relevant experience in strategy/management consulting, international development, public policy or similar fields. 
    • Experience in data analysis and management.
    • Experience in quantitative and qualitative research.
    • Experience in performance management and results-based financing are an added advantage. 
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Economics, International Development, Statistics, Public Policy, Political Science, Business, Engineering or related fields. Master’s degree in related subjects is a plus.
  • Skills
    • Problem Solving & Analysis: Demonstrate strong strategic and structured thinking combined with analytical skills to dissect complex client challenges and distill insights that lead to actionable recommendations. 
    • Project Management & Organizational Skills: Exhibit the ability to manage individual workstreams independently, set clear priorities, and effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams. Take initiative in contributing to team growth and supporting team members. 
    • Communication & Interpersonal Skills: Communicate insights clearly and confidently, both verbally and in writing, to clients and senior stakeholders. Build rapport and trust through concise, effective communication. 
    • Leadership & Initiative: Show a willingness to take ownership of tasks, work independently, and continuously seek out and implement innovative solutions. Display strong motivation to grow within a high-performance environment. 
    • Technical & Digital Proficiency: Possess knowledge of data analysis tools and business modeling, along with the ability to interpret data effectively to support recommendations. 
    • Adaptability & Resilience: Thrive in a fast-paced consulting environment, effectively balancing multiple priorities under tight deadlines while delivering high-quality results. 
  • Language skills:
    • Full written and oral working proficiency in English (C2). Applicants for our Morocco office should also have full written and oral proficiency in French (C2).

Working model and benefits

Instiglio has adopted a hybrid working model i.e., a minimum of two (2) days a week at the office for face-to-face connections. We offer generous benefits, which include seven (7) personal days, sixty (60) remote workdays, travel and health insurance, a company holiday between Christmas and New Year's in addition to the legal vacation days, and parental leave, among others.
