Job Description
Shamiri Institute is seeking energetic and self-motivated team players to join us as Shamiri Fellows based at Ngong (Kajiado), Kitengela (Kajiado), Kenol (Murang’a), and Murang’a town hubs in Kajiado and Murang’a Counties.
Shamiri Fellows are recent high-school graduates trained to deliver the 4-week Shamiri intervention without prior formal health training as part of the Shamiri Program. Fellows receive ten hours of training and weekly supervision from Shamiri Clinical Supervisors. They lead group-based intervention sessions with high school students within the schools we will be implementing with in Kajiado and Murang’a Counties. Prior research has shown that Shamiri Fellows are effective—thorough, skillful, clear, and adherent to session protocol—at delivering the Shamiri intervention. We are seeking an energetic and self-motivated team player to join our sixth class of Shamiri Fellows.

About Shamiri Institute
We are a youth-led organization shaping the future of mental health by making it affordable for all, personalized to an individual’s needs and circumstances, and integrated within existing caregiving systems and community life. This will help to build a future where young people can thrive across the African continent. Based in Nairobi, Kenya, Shamiri was founded in 2018 at Harvard University by award-winning Kenyan entrepreneur and community – mobilizer Tom Osborn and rising global mental health researcher Katherine Venturo-Conerly. Since our founding in 2018, we have worked with over 40,000 youths in secondary schools across Kenya. Through our work, young people have experienced a 40% improvement in mental health and wellbeing, a 14% improvement in social relations, and a 3% improvement in academic grades.
