The Senior MEP Engineer role is responsible for leading and managing the mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) aspects of our data center construction projects. The Senior MEP Engineer ensures that the highest quality of MEP construction work is in accordance with project-specific cost and schedule requirements.

 

Responsibilities:

 

Project Management:

  • Achieve a detailed understanding of contract documents (drawings and specifications), phasing plans, MEP systems interrelationships, construction sequencing, and project schedule.
  • Oversee the installation of MEP work and direct, monitor, and control the activities of MEP Subcontractors.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure project timelines, resources, and inspections support the project schedule.
  • Review construction documents for completeness and constructability.

Technical Support:

  • Drive problem-solving discussions, as may arise, between MEP Subcontractors during construction.
  • Validate and oversee design issues related to MEP and suggest alternative solutions.
  • Oversee the receipt and review of MEP submittals.
  • Assist in the testing and commissioning of MEP equipment.

Reporting and Documentation:

  • Ensure accurate logging and updating of all MEP changes and as-built information on field drawings.
  • Prepare monthly capacity planning and MEP reports.
  • Coordinate and administer MEP related materials, systems, and shop drawings submittals.

 Compliance and Safety:

  • Ensure that MEP Subcontractors provide and adhere to relevant Quality documentation/records.
  • Ensure that MEP Subcontractors adhere to Project safety regulations.
  • Implement and manage the company's Zero Injury Safety Program at the project site.

 

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in mechanical, Electrical, or related Engineering discipline; Master's degree preferred.
  • Minimum 15 years of experience in the field of MEP engineering, with at least 5 years in a senior role.
  • Expert knowledge of plans prints and specifications.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Proven track record in managing and directing construction procedures and practices related to MEP.
  • Computer literate with proficiency in MS Office, AutoCAD, and construction project management software.

Good to have:

  • LEED accreditation is a plus.
  • Experience building large scale facilities such as data centers.
  • Current driver’s license.
  • Willingness to travel to project locations as required.
