Job Summary

Tetra Pak East Africa has an opening for an experienced Project Manager who will overall be responsibility for projects type L1-L2 (processing project applicant level) and/or L2-L3-NPI (packaging project applicant level) in all respects i.e., cost, time, quality, and scope of obligations to manage the project within the framework of the budget, time schedule, quality, and scope, contributing to the overall sales result and customer satisfaction. Coordinates and coaches the project team to improve team performance by building team, training, and motivating in order to facilitate cooperation, ensure project efficiency and boost morale. The successful candidates will report to the Manager Project Management based in Cape Town.

What you will do

  • Overall responsible for project execution and provide project leadership to deliver project result. 
  • Secure project deliverables according to project agreement (contract) and act according to responsibilities in the project charter. 
  • Breakdown and plan the project into phases and fulfil the plan and project milestones in time and in full according to budget. 
  • Drive productivity in project through utilization of global reusable solutions, processes, and tools (OFCE, project governance, risk management, etc.). 
  • Manage scope changes and issue variation orders (VO´s). 
  • Secure project communication and documentation according to project communication plan.
  • Provide lesson learned and providing input to improvement or development of processes and tools. 

We believe you have

  • University engineering degree or equivalent.
  • PMP certification optional. 
  • 5-10 years as Project Manager in similar industry (Packaging and Processing equipment).
  • Demonstrate leadership skills.
  • Good communication skills
  • Negotiation skills and capability to maneuver through political and cultural situations effectively.
  • Proven customer management experience
  • Good presentation skills
  • Ability to handle multiple stakeholders with a customer focused mindset.
  • Results-oriented with strong analytical skills
  • A fluent level of writing and speaking English.
  • Ability to travel up to and about 50% of the time.
