Mine Planning Manager – Northern Cape
Our client, an international mining company, has an opportunity for a qualified and experienced Mine Planning Manager to join their team in the Northern Cape.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Prepare, review, and evaluate reserves, mine designs, mine plans, ore control, project feasibility and productivity studies.
- Ensure that the site mining operations are planned and scheduled in a manner that maximizes the value of the resource whilst considering safety, business risk and market demand.
- Oversee underground mine design and optimization, includes development and stopping.
- Develops, monitors, and coordinates a team of mining staff professionals.
- Develops underground production budgets and provides technical resources to enable those budgets to be met or exceeded.
- Oversee short term and long-term production scheduling, budgeting, analysis, and control of cost, and cut off grades.
Education and Experience
- Degree in Mining Engineering or Equivalent.
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience in an underground environment.
- Software 2D and 3D Planning packages. Deswik and Vulcan would be an advantage.
- Scheduling (Short, Medium and Long Term).
- MS Office experience.
- Code B Driver’s License.
