Our client, a leading organization operating in a dynamic and multinational environment within the logistics sector, is seeking an experienced and highly skilled Human Resource Manager to join their team.
The ideal candidate should be based in Mombasa or come from the local community and possess a strong personality with exceptional communication and negotiation skills.
Key Responsibilities
1. HR Strategy and Leadership
o Develop and implement HR strategies and initiatives aligned with the organization’s goals and objectives.
o Provide guidance and support to management on HR-related matters, ensuring best practices and compliance.
2. Talent Acquisition and Development
o Lead the recruitment and selection process to attract and retain top talent.
o Oversee onboarding and employee development programs to ensure a productive and engaged workforce.
3. Employee Relations and Communication
o Act as the primary point of contact for employee relations issues, ensuring fair and consistent resolution.
o Foster effective communication channels to promote transparency and collaboration across the organization.
4. Performance Management
o Implement and manage performance appraisal systems to drive employee productivity and growth.
o Identify training and development needs and facilitate learning programs.
5. HR Operations and Compliance
o Oversee HR operations, including payroll, employee records, and benefits administration.
o Ensure adherence to local labor laws, organizational policies, and international HR standards.
6. Organizational Development
o Develop and implement workforce planning strategies to address current and future needs.
o Drive initiatives to enhance employee engagement, retention, and organizational culture.
7. Diversity and Inclusion
o Promote diversity, equity, and inclusion within the organization, creating an inclusive workplace.
Requirements
Qualifications and Experience
• Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Experience:
o 10 -12 years of progressive HR experience, with at least 5 years in a managerial role.
o Solid HR operations experience in a multinational environment, preferably within logistics or FMCG.
• Certifications:
o Professional HR certification (e.g., CHRP, SHRM) is an added advantage.
o Membership in the Institute of Human Resource Management (IHRM) is mandatory.
• Skills and Attributes:
o Strong leadership, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.
o Proficiency in HRIS systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
o Deep knowledge of Kenyan labor laws and HR best practices.
