PROFILE INTRODUCTION:
Our
client, a tier-3 banking institution is seeking a Head of Information
Technology to lead its technology strategy and operations. This role is
pivotal in driving digital transformation, enhancing system security,
optimizing IT infrastructure, and ensuring compliance with industry
regulations. The successful candidate will be a visionary leader with deep
expertise in banking technology, IT risk management, and emerging digital
trends.
DUTIES
AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. IT Strategy & Leadership:
- Develop and
execute a comprehensive IT strategy aligned with the bank's business
objectives.
- Drive
digital transformation initiatives to enhance customer experience and
operational efficiency.
- Provide
strategic direction and leadership for all IT functions, ensuring alignment
with business goals.
2. IT Operations & Infrastructure Management:
- Oversee IT
infrastructure, core banking operations, application support, and end-user
services.
- Ensure high
availability, scalability, and security of IT systems.
- Drive
convergence of technologies and enhance monitoring systems and tools.
- Oversee
cloud adoption, cybersecurity frameworks, and modern IT architectures.
3. Risk Management, Security & Compliance:
- Develop and
implement cybersecurity policies and frameworks to mitigate IT risks.
- Ensure
compliance with regulatory requirements, industry standards, and data
protection laws.
- Monitor IT
risks, including cyber threats, system vulnerabilities, and data breaches, and
implement mitigation strategies.
4. IT Projects & Digital Transformation:
- Oversee the
implementation of technology projects, including core banking system upgrades
and cloud migration.
- Champion
automation, data analytics, and emerging technologies such as AI and machine
learning.
- Collaborate
with business leaders to identify technology-driven solutions for operational
efficiency and customer engagement.
6. Vendor & Stakeholder Management:
- Manage
relationships with technology vendors, service providers, and regulatory
bodies.
- Negotiate
contracts and SLAs to ensure optimal service delivery.
- Represent
IT in board-level discussions, industry forums, and regulatory engagements.
7. Team Leadership & Performance Management:
- Build and
mentor a high-performing IT team, fostering a culture of innovation.
- Drive
talent development, succession planning, and employee engagement.
- Oversee
performance management to optimize IT productivity and service delivery.

Requirements
- Bachelor’s
degree in Computer
Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Master’s
degree in IT, Business
Administration, or a relevant field is an added advantage.
- 10+
years of experience in IT
leadership, with at least 4 years in a senior leadership role within the banking or financial services sector.
- Proven expertise in core banking systems, cloud
computing, cybersecurity, and digital banking technologies.
- Strong experience in leading large-scale IT projects, risk
management, and regulatory compliance.
- Experience with
AI, data analytics, and fin-tech integrations is a plus.
