About the Role
 

The Commercial Director will drive the growth of the platform across both vendor and customer verticals. The ideal candidate will bring a wealth of experience in managing facets of online operations, business planning, and marketing strategies to drive growth. 

This role combines sales, marketing, technology, and management expertise to develop a plan that delivers a superior brand and shopping experience for customers.


Key Responsibilities 

   Growth: Oversee and drive platform sales creating an online marketing strategy including budget, digital marketing KPIs, growth trajectory, etc.

   Strategy: Research industry trends, seeking opportunities to bridge gaps in business objectives, and push the business forward to exceed financial targets.

    Operations: Lead development of internal processes for content management, product development, and continuous improvement.

   Brand Marketing: Identifying the company’s target demographic and unique brand identity as well as generating and implementing new sales and marketing initiatives to increase eCommerce sales and profitability.

    Team Management: Mentor and lead a team to deliver on key business KPIs/ metrics across social media, email marketing, and products.



Requirements

Key Qualifications 

  • 8+ years track record of experience in the digital retailing market, focusing on both business-to-business (B2B) and business-to-consumer (B2C).
  • In-depth experience driving e-commerce platform growth from both product (vendor) and customer (buyer) aspects with a focus on fostering value.
  • Proven success in developing, executing, and maintaining sophisticated digital commerce brand strategies and successful delivery of business value.
  • Strong people leader with experience managing and mentoring a team and a track record of helping more junior team members develop and excel.
  • Solid business acumen with the ability to identify, prioritize, and articulate the highest-impact initiatives.
    Understanding of digital optimizing strategies across SEO, CRO, PPC, ROI analytics, digital marketing, and email marketing.
  • Strong presentation, oral, and written communication skills are required.
