Job Purpose:
- To keep track of important technical project documents such as Project plans, Specifications, BOQ, Drawings and Internal/External communication documents, Manuals etc.
- To generate/amend engineering drawings as per project requirements; ensure their safety, back up as required and update the documents as per project requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide technical support and instruction to staff or customers regarding equipment standards, assisting with specific and difficult in-service engineering.
- Optimize production of technical drawings, designs, plans, using computer-aided design (AutoCAD) software.
- Costing and estimation of various materials and structures.
- Develop method statements and prepare costing.
- Review of designs submitted by the client for any errors and rectify where necessary. Keep the specified technical updated of his activities in the respective ships and coordinate all major projects through that position.
- Give support to ensure all equipment and on-board procedures are in compliance with applicable regulations, class requirements and company policy.
- Ensure in cooperation with the Marine team, that technically related incidents, failures and damages are properly investigated and reported.
- Responsible for verifying allocated vessels are compliant with ISM, company accreditation and statutory requirements producing variance reports for Marine Manager.
- Carry out vessel visits, inspections and technical audits and provide full reports within agreed timescales.
- Responsible in managing document issuances to site/production team.
- Prepare as built drawings, CNC cutting files etc.
- Follow-up with various departments on day today tasks.
- Coordinate among various departments to ensure that the team gets relevant support on time. ∙ Ensure that all information and reports received from ships are correct and disseminated to all relevant parties.
- Generate daily/weekly progress reports,meeting minutes or other relevant reports as required.
- Performs any other duty as assigned by the supervisor.
Requirements
- Diploma or degree in Engineering field (Marine or Mechanical)
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience in marine engineering;
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills;
- Good Computer knowledge esp. MS suite (excel, PPT, word);
- Should have professional level of proficiency in AutoCAD drafting.
- A person of high integrity.
